The first month of activity at Argentine racetracks has concluded, and the statistics from the Stud Book Argentino have started to take shape. Haras El Paraíso, sire Il Campione (Scat Daddy), and Stud Mamina have started the year as they ended the last: leading the way. Meanwhile, among the broodmare sires, the leader was Easing Along (Storm Cat), who has been consistently prominent in the rankings.

With two stakes victories under his belt, achieved by Estero de Ibera and Monsieur Delon, Il Campione has begun his title defense in the best possible manner, with Fortify (Distorted Humor) hot on his heels, in a familiar race for the top spot. Close behind is Remote (Dansili), completing the podium, followed by Angiolo (Grand Reward) and Manipulator (Unbridled) rounding out the top five.

In the breeders' rankings, a familiar battle is unfolding, with El Paraíso taking the lead with a solid margin over Firmamento, supported by four stakes victories from horses bred there. La Pasión, Vacación, and Santa Inés follow behind, mirroring recent trends.

As mentioned, Easing Along made a strong start in the broodmare sire category, pulling ahead by approximately 9 million pesos over Orpen (Lure), who has been leading in recent years. A bit further behind, Sebi Halo (Southern Halo), Intérprete (Farnesio), and Catcher In the Rye (Danehill) also continue to show their generosity in the lower sections of pedigrees.

Stud JCV finished at the top in 2024, but in the new season, those horses once again donned the Mamina silks, with the stable leading the division with five victories, matching El Basti, who sits third. La Frontera is second, while Tinta Roja and Gran Muñeca complete the top five.

As for the horses themselves, the top earner in January was Luz Delito (Lizard Island), winning the Clásico Apertura (G2) at Palermo, with Monsieur Delon and Endor Rye in pursuit. The only horse to score two victories in the month marking the season's start was Aiyanna (Santillano).

Among the broodmares, the standout statistic is Sweet Hill (Sebi Halo), who had three of her offspring competing in January, with all of them winning: Geodia (Galán de Cine), Googler (Galán de Cine), and Aguante Campeón (Angiolo), all maintaining a perfect record for the season so far.
