The two will square off this Sunday over 1500 meters in the Clásico Jockey Club del Perú

LA PLATA, Argentina – Sunday’s centerpiece at the Hipódromo de La Plata will be the Clásico Jockey Club del Perú, a 1500-meter test for fillies and mares three and up under weight-for-age conditions. With a purse of 4,900,000 pesos to the winner, it offers stakes-level prestige—despite attracting a field of only eight.
Topping the entries is Candy Fy (Fortify), a model of consistency who thrives at La Plata. Racing for Haras Vacación, she captured the Clásico Otelo A. Orlandi (L) here back in June of 2024 and has been a reliable contender in numerous other black-type events on this circuit.
Her main challenge could come from Jin Jin (Full Mast), the 2024 winner of the Clásico Polla de Potrancas (G2), who makes her first start in five months. She was last seen running below par in the Clásico Marcos Levalle (G2), but her resume also includes a victory on debut in one of the qualifying divisions of the Clásico Precoces, and a decisive win in the Clásico Derli A. Gómez (G3). She returns under the care of Ángel Piana, who will also saddle Tac-Tac(Manipulator), a filly who inherited a win in the Clásico Raúl Lottero (L) last season but has struggled to replicate that form since.
Traveling from Campo 2 at San Isidro is Rebecca Hi (Hi Happy), who seems to have adapted well to La Plata’s eucalyptus-lined oval. Meanwhile, Melisandra (Storm Embrujado) brings an aura of mystery as the lone unbeaten in the field, taking a significant class jump after an eye-catching debut score.
