Colts and fillies will take center stage next week at Palermo and San Isidro

With an eye on the Montevideo and Atucha, the Clásico Crespo will be held at Palermo, while the Islas Malvinas will feature a clash of sprinters in the north

While Argentine racing eagerly awaits the next major events, this week, which began on Monday, will spotlight the 2-year-olds at the Palermo and San Isidro racetracks.

At Palermo, on Monday, March 31st, a new edition of the Clásico Pedro E. y Manuel A. Crespo (G3) will take place, contested over 1400 meters on the dirt, serving as a prep race for the Montevideo (G1) and Jorge de Atucha (G1) Grand Prix events.

As is often the case, the list of potential participants is short, with 6 entries this time, all colts: Alado Frank (Gidu), Fantasioso Pass (Distinctiv Passion), Gran Porteñito (Dabster), Hi Dolfi (Hi Happy), Liberto (Hurricane Cat), and Majority Wins (Master of Hounds).

Meanwhile, at San Isidro, the best race of the period is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2nd, with the Clásico Islas Malvinas (L), over 1000 meters of turf. Ten runners have been entered: Baby Pass (Distinctiv Passion), Dom Rui (Storm Embrujado), El Madrugador (Il Campione), Emm Yugo (Emmanuel), Emma-Vaga (Emmanuel), Pitucona Pass(Distinctiv Passion), Salando Las Heritas (Strategos), Secreto a Voces (Springdom), Starry Bomb (Hit It a Bomb), and Straldina (Strategos).

The other classic of the week at San Isidro will be the Clásico Doria, for fillies aged 3 and older, over 1400 meters of turf, scheduled for Saturday, March 30th, under handicap conditions.

Among the 12 fillies entered, the maximum weight of 58 1/2 kg falls on Che Mamita (Safety Check), who could face: Amiguita Soñada (Todo un Amiguito, 53 1/2), Candlelit (Equal Stripes, 54 1/2), Castell Queen (Daniel Boone, 56 1/2), Champion Craf (Mastercraftsman, 55), Coni Fizz (Marconi, 56), Guiltless (Full Mast, 54 1/2)—who should see an increased weight following her victory on Monday in the Clásico Farnesio at Palermo—, Hi Chasty (Hi Happy, 54), Look Happy (Hi Happy, 56 1/2), Udinese (Brz-Eyeofthetiger, 54 1/2), Verenna (Cosmic Trigger, 56 1/2), and Vieja Amiga Mask (Mask, 56).
