The son of Strategos, maternal half-brother of G1 winner El Éxito, was purchased for 34,500,000 pesos. The auction lasted over 7 hours, with 122 lots parading through the ring

It was over 7 hours of bidding, with 122 lots parading through the sales ring, all under the hammer of Monasterio Tattersall, bringing to life a new edition of the Gran Venta Anual of Haras El Paraíso, the leading stud farm in Argentina since 2022. Early in the season, it offers yearlings, weanlings, and some older horses to a broad range of buyers, with many coming from across the country to the historic fields of Victoria Pueyrredón and Pablo Duggan, leaving with new hopes for the future.
Once again, the auction was a success, with plenty of bids reflecting a market movement that, while perhaps not as high-priced as in previous years, showed consistency—particularly considering the tough moment the horse racing industry is going through, with high costs, low purses, and a country still struggling to stabilize its economy.
When summarizing, it must be noted that among the yearlings, the highest price was, as expected, for Con Estilo, part of the second generation of champion Strategos (Zensational), who is already showing promise with his first offspring, and out of Serenity Jane (Sebi Halo), making him the maternal half-brother of El Éxito (Il Campione), the top miler at Palermo. The grey colt, born on September 7, 2023, fetched a price of 34,500,000 pesos.
The second-highest price in this category went to Captivating, another son of Strategos, but this one was a chestnut born on October 17. He is out of the classic-placed La Campoy (Luhuk) and is the maternal half-brother of G2-placed La Colomer (Grand Reward) and the very consistent Calabró (Grand Reward). He reached 28,500,000 pesos, purchased by Vaca García, on commission.
As for the weanlings, once again a progeny of Federalist (Stonesider) topped the list. This time it was Exclamation Mark (Il Campione), a colt who is the full brother of G2 winner Editorial Comment and G2-placed Educator, and he reached 29,000,000 pesos, with the last bid placed by Marcelo Sueldo, on commission.
Finally, when it comes to horses in training, the highest price was for El Buen Regreso (Il Campione x Indralandia, by Intérprete), bought by Vaca García, on commission, for 26,500,000 pesos. He is the half-brother of G3 Silvalandria (Sebi Halo) and Aztec Gold (Angiolo), the mother of Rugiente (Il Campione), and is a race winner with three years of age.
