DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (From a Special Correspondent).- The Dubai Racing Club has announced a schedule adjustment for the 2025 Dubai World Cup program, set to take place next Saturday, due to unforeseen weather conditions. In an effort to ensure the comfort of jockeys, the safety of the horses, and the well-being of spectators at this world-class event, officials have decided to delay the start of the card.
Gates at Meydan Racecourse will now open at 2:30 p.m., with the first race, the Dubai Kahayla Classic (G1) for Purebred Arabians, set to go off at 4:35 p.m. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated Dubai World Cup (G1) will take place at 9:30 p.m., followed by a spectacular closing ceremony.
Sheikh Rashed bin Dalmook Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Racing Club, stated: “Our priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of the horses, jockeys, and all attendees, which is why we have made the decision to adjust the Dubai World Cup Day schedule. We remain fully committed to delivering an exceptional event, featuring thrilling races, world-class hospitality, and an atmosphere befitting the Dubai World Cup.”
The Dubai World Cup is the most spectacular day of racing worldwide and one of the region’s premier sporting and social events. All tickets, hospitality packages, and reservations will remain valid, accommodating the revised schedule.

The 2025 Dubai World Cup will be broadcast live on ESPN and Disney+ for Argentina and across the Americas, continuing a tradition established in recent years.
Following the Dubai Racing Club's schedule change, further details on the event lineup will be confirmed in the coming hours. The program could potentially include the Grand National, the world’s most prestigious steeplechase, which is set to take place earlier in the day at Aintree.
