El Rincón Famoso To Race for Stud Las Monjitas / (Arg) Sales

The Gran Venta Selección at Haras El Paraíso once again lived up to expectations, reaffirming its status as one of Argentina’s premier yearling auctions. Held under the banner of (Arg) Sales, the 2025 renewal attracted a large crowd of buyers and friends on Saturday, with the farm presenting a deep roster of top-tier juveniles.

Leading the session was El Rincón Famoso, a colt by Il Campione out of the G2 winner Stop Shopping (Sebi Halo), purchased for $108,000 by Stud Las Monjitas, one of the nation’s most prominent racing outfits. Foaled on August 31, the dark bay is a full brother to G3 winner El Patio and a half to stakes winners About Today (Angiolo) and Líder Blue(Le Blues), as well as to Le Mall, a top-level performer on provincial dirt tracks. El Rincón Famoso is expected to follow in the hoofprints of El Paraíso graduates like Labrado, El Musical, Springdom, and Luthier Blues, all of whom have gone on to major success.

The second-highest price of the evening came at $74,000 for Cardo Castilla, a member of the second crop of champion Strategos (Zensational), who was knocked down to Juan Saldivia. Born August 7, the colt is out of Sally Rose (Sebi Halo), a half-sister to G2 winner Balandras and to prolific producers La Web and La Virtual. Sally Rose has already produced G3 winner Lord Rosellion (Le Blues) and G3-placed Literal Blues (Le Blues).

Completing the top trio of prices was El Jangadero, another son of Il Campione, this time out of Anjali Mudra(Angiolo), who sold for $70,000 to Stud La Rosaura. His second dam is the classy Saiardhana (Sebi Halo), from the family of Cafrune (Colonial Affair), Incaparaí (Intérprete), and Ipacarai (Intérprete).

A total of 76 yearlings went through the ring (with only two withdrawals), generating $2,332,000 in sales. The average price came to $30,684, with a median of $28,310.

Backed by a strong racetrack record and growing demand, the El Paraíso Select Sale once again proved a major success.
