Natan (Señor Candy) was a no-show, Super Inter (Super Saver) fell far below expectations, and all the glory in Friday’s Haras Argentinos Stakes (Listed-2000m, dirt), the headline race at Palermo Racecourse, went to Endor Rye, a horse that began his career in Tucumán and has since established himself as a formidable force among the long-distance runners on Argentina’s premier circuits.

With the track serving as a trusty ally, the son of Endorsement delivered another striking performance—not just for outclassing a tough field but for extending his streak of major wins. Coming off a victory in the G3 Clásico Ayacucho, Endor Rye showcased his adaptability by successfully adjusting from 2500 meters to 2000 meters, a transition that demands an entirely different pace.

Super Inter set a strong early pace—arguably too strong—while Jorge Peralta kept the eventual winner close on his heels. They clocked fractions of 23.96, 47.29, and 1:10.73, with the rest of the field struggling to keep up.

The leaders stayed neck-and-neck until the stretch, where Endor Rye surged ahead as Super Inter began to fade, showing clear signs of exhaustion. From there, it was smooth sailing for the representative of Stud Los Molestos, trained by Marcelo Degregorio.

At the wire, Endor Rye held a commanding four-length lead over Endo Verde, giving sire Endorsement a 1-2 finish. Super Inter, spent from his early efforts, settled for third, 2 1/2 lengths back, with the final time reading 2:02.24.

"I’m thrilled to win again with Endor Rye," said jockey Jorge Peralta. "He left a great impression in his last race, and today’s was much faster, but I put him into it early. Every time I asked him, he responded brilliantly. He’s incredibly consistent, and distance is no issue—he actually seems to prefer longer trips. At 2500 meters, he runs more comfortably and finishes stronger, but the strategy today was to press the favorite, just as I discussed with the trainer."

Bred by Haras La Eterna CeciliaEndor Rye is enjoying a stellar moment in his career and looks poised to be a key contender in the Campeonato de Oro series.
