Both races will take place on the turf at Palermo, with the first one having only 2 entries and being reopened until today

A weak landscape awaits in the central racetracks for the upcoming days in terms of prestigious races. Only two stakes races are scheduled: the Expressive Halo (L-2200m, turf) and the Farnesio (1400m, turf), both at Palermo. However, the Expressive Halo has only 2 entries: Epityrum (Portal del Alto) and El Cid Campeador (Il Campione). It remains to be seen if the reopening decided by the authorities will add any new names or if the race will be canceled.
The tribute to the champion was expected to be the main event of the Saturday program at Palermo, with the condition that it be open to all 4-year-olds and older horses, with weight allowances according to the rules.
Meanwhile, the Farnesio, scheduled for Monday, the 24th, leads the day’s events with 11 potential entries. For mares aged 3 and up, with a weight-for-age scale, some notable entries include Amiguita Gina (Todo Un Amiguito), Causeway Girl (Dabster), Early Life (Suggestive Boy), and Filippiada (Il Mercato).
Other potential participants are: Amiguita Soñada (Equal Stripes), Candlelit (Equal Stripes), Elina Regia (Il Campione), Gala de Gris (Galán de Cine), Guiltless (Full Mast), Look Happy (Hi Happy), and Tac-Tac (Manipulator).
Palermo will kick off its week on Friday, the 21st, with the Spiny Handicap (1000m) and the Elías Antúnez Handicap (1800m), both on the main dirt track for mares aged 4 and up.
In the tribute to the unforgettable sprinter, no less than 20 horses are entered, with Lagoa Azul (Lenovo) carrying the top weight of 62 kilos. Meanwhile, only 6 are entered for the Antúnez, including the G2 winners Cyboogie (Galicado, 61) and Poker Mommy (Daddy Long Legs, 57 1/2).
On the side of the Hipódromo de San Isidro, the only meeting scheduled will be on Wednesday, the 26th, with the most significant event being the Handicap Larrea, a 1300-meter race on dirt for horses aged 5 and up.
With 9 possible entries, the top weight of 60 kilos will go to the pampeano Mississippi (Sabayón), just half a kilo above the veteran Tsunami Key (Key Deputy).
