Cita Perfecta, a daughter of Sovereign (Ire)—the 2019 G1 Irish Derby winner making his debut as a sire—topped the Copa Bullrich Sale when hammered down for $91,000 to Diane Perkins

Cita Perfecta, a daughter of Irish Derby winner Sovereign (Ire) and a half-sister to local Champion 2-Year-Old and U.S. G1 winner Subsanador (Arg) (Fortify), brought the top price during Thursday’s Copa Bullrich April Sale, held in-person at Haras La Pasión’s Tattersall and organized by Antonio Bullrich SA.
Offered by Haras El Mallín, where Sovereign stands at stud, the chestnut filly was knocked down for $91,000 (official USD) following a spirited bidding battle. She was purchased by Diane Perkins, owner of Haras San Francisco de Pilar, whose colors have been carried by such luminaries as Lord At War (Arg) and G1 winner Abloom (Arg).
Bred out of Save the Date (Hurricane Cat), Cita Perfecta hails from a prolific family. Her third dam is the outstanding producer Sa Torreta (Southern Halo), also the great-granddam of record-setting G1 winner Satu (Arg) (Catcher In the Rye).
The session’s second-highest price came for another Sovereign filly from Haras El Mallín. Soberbia Noche, out of Red Knight (Honour and Glory) and a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Force Majeure (Arg) (Manipulator), went to Stud Dos Estrellas for $50,000 (official USD). Her pedigree also traces back to G1 winner Flag Nine, making her one of the session’s standout offerings.
Rounding out the top three was La Más Bonita, a Daddy Long Legs filly out of La Serenita (Pure Prize), offered by Haras El Chañar. A full sister to La Bella Otero, a juvenile debut winner in 2024 and most recently third in the G3 Clásico Carlos Casares, she was secured for $46,000 by Ignacio Pavlovsky Jr.
La Serenita is a granddaughter of Serenita (Southern Halo), Argentina’s Champion 2-Year-Old Filly of her generation who later campaigned in the U.S., finishing second in the G2 Santa Monica H. and third in the G1 La Brea S.
Out of 52 cataloged lots, 47 went through the ring, producing total sales of $1,062,000, with an average of $22,596 and a median of $20,270, all in official U.S. dollars.
