The first graded stakes for 2-year olds will be run on Sunday; the horse from Las Monjitas could compete against Super Inter in the Clásico Haras Argentinos (L)
A busy week of action is coming up at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, with the 2-year-olds facing their first gradual steps overt dirt with the clásicos Guillermo Kemmis (G3-1000 m) and Carlos Casares (G3-1000 m), and the stayers competing in the attractive 2000 meters of the Clásico Haras Argentinos (L), previous step to the Palermo de Oro Championship, where the double G1 Natan (Señor Candy) is one of the horses in the line-up.
On Sunday, the Kemmis and the Casares, for fillies and colts, respectively, will start to spice up the run to the Triple Crown, each one of them with 11,165,000 pesos for the winner.
There are 6 colts in the first of those tests: Alado Frank (Gidu), Exclamación Pass (Distinctiv Passion), Fantasioso Pass (Distinctiv Passion), Forgging (Forge), Gran Porteñito (Dabster) and Vladimir (Il Mercato).
Meanwhile, for the Casares the preliminary list is somewhat larger, with 9 possible participants: Black Happy (Hi Happy), Bon o Bomb (Hit It a Bomb), Emma Vaga (Emmanuel), Jeanette (Remote), La Bella Otero (Daddy Long Legs), Mis Locuras (Manipulator), Sahara Reward (Grand Reward), Sarzana Pass (Distinctiv Passion) and Verdadera Pass (Distinctiv Passion).
The week's action at Palermo will start on Friday, with the Clásico Haras Argentinos and a show that is expected to be very interesting. Natan is a strong name for that race, but also could be in the gates the in-form Super Inter (Super Saver) and the graded stakes winners Rammel (Fortify), Storm Sound (Hi Happy), Endor Rye (Endorsement) and Notable Island (Lizard Island). In addition, Endo Verde (Endorsement), Evros Tama (Evros), Operístico (Daddy Long Legs), Piennar (Orpen), Sahuri (Greenspring), and Valle Barún (Vástago Salvaje) also were entries.
For its Monday's card. Palermo will have as its main attraction the Handicap Dancing Moss (1400 m, dirt), for 5yo and up and where there are 18 entreies. The top weight of 60 1/2 kilos went to Safety Honour (Safety Check), with Tsunami Key (Key Deputy, 60), Easy Way Out (Il Campione, 59), Hacer Un Puente (Cosmic Trigger, 57 1/2), Torino Kiin Ha (Señor Candy, 57 1/2), Chanclette (Super Saver, 56 1/2) and Twitch Hurricane (Hurricane Cat, 56 1/2) as other referents.
