The steady rhythm of Argentina's 2023 yearling sales continues this Tuesday with the Haras La Madrina Yearling Sale, kicking off at 6 p.m. in a live virtual format, organized by MZ Horse Sales.

The farm that bred G1 winner Elvas (Catcher In the Rye), among other notable performers, will offer a catalog of 22 colts and fillies by established sires such as Le Blues (Roman Ruler), Daddy Long Legs (Scat Daddy), Treasure Beach(Galileo), and Equal Stripes (Candy Stripes), as well as from the first crops of Pneumatic (Uncle Mo) and Sandino Ruler (Roman Ruler).

A handful of lots figure to be among the sale’s top tickets, led by Splend Blues (Le Blues–Splenda, by Mutakddim), a filly foaled August 19, 2023, and catalog number one. She is a half-sister to Grand Splendid (Grand Reward), winner of the G3 Clásico Lucio Taborda and the Belle du Jour and Colombia stakes. Her family includes standouts like champion Smart Choice (Grand Reward) and G1 winner Patola (High Yield).

Another top prospect is Up Equal, a filly born October 20, 2023, by Equal Stripes out of Update (Easing Along), making her a half-sister to Daddy Feres (Daddy Long Legs), who captured the Clásico Manuel Quimper last season in Peru.

Catalog number 6 is Ampi Blue (Le Blues), the second foal out of Seattle Ampi (Seattle Fitz), who captured the Clásico Carlos Casares (G3) and Saturnino J. Unzué (G2) at two.

Lot 14 is Del Mar Azul (Le Blues), a colt foaled September 29 and the son of Musetina (True Cause), winner of the Clásico Partícula (G2).

Beach the Stars (Treasure Beach) is out of dual G3 winner Win the Stars (Luhuk), making him a half-brother to G3 winner Win the Match (Grand Reward) and stakes-placed Win the Award (Grand Reward).

Rounding out the list of headliners is Great Stripes (Equal Stripes), a full brother to dual winner Josefina, out of Great Nistel (Van Nistelrooy), a half-sister to multiple G1 winner and current stallion The Great Day (Harlan’s Holiday).
