None of the trainers provided reasonable evidence for the absences of their horses in the final race on January 21

LA PLATA.- The case of the six trainers, who had been questioned by the local racing commission following a massive scratch in the tenth race on January 21, has finally been resolved.
The professionals involved—Roque L. Angioletti, Aldo D. Dantín, Gerardo N. Alteño, Daniel A. Rubén, Jorge E. Peredo, and Marcelo A. Santiago—presented their respective defenses, but none of them met the required standards, and the sanctions proceeded.
As a result, each of the trainers will be banned from entering their horses for one month (the suspension expires on the 20th of this month), while the horses involved in the now confirmed scheme to fill that race will remain in their boxes for three months (some of them had already been there for much longer...).
The horses sanctioned were Elcotedelnene (Portal del Alto), Giacomo de Oro (Giacom), Neurus (Elness), El Rey del Monte (South Kissing), Fortunate Hit (Hit It a Bomb), and Soviet Space (Seek Again), all of which were absent from the race that was won by Sekele (Sebi Halo).
Some cases were particularly striking, as Elcotedelnene had been off for 371 days, El Rey del Monte for 130, Fortunate Hit for 152, and Neurus, a 9-year-old, had not raced for 915 days!
Daniel Rubén stated that he had not even entered the horse in question, and it was not under his responsibility; Roque Angioletti explained that he had withdrawn the horse due to high transportation costs; Alteño cited transport issues, as did Jorge Peredo, who also mentioned family problems; meanwhile, Santiago withdrew Giacomo de Oro due to a physical issue, claiming the horse had been injured in his final workout, although the commission had evidence that the issue was long-standing and prevented him from competing.
The official communication regarding the disqualifications concludes with the following statement:
"That the trainers involved have not been able to adequately demonstrate a justification that would relieve them from being held accountable for professional negligence, under Article 33, Section I of the General Racing Regulations, as the horses were entered in the aforementioned race and did not participate, which warrants the imposition of a sanction."
Thus, the case concludes, with La Plata confirming a joint scheme aimed at filling a race.
