The Handicap Parwiz, the feature race scheduled for this Wednesday at Hipódromo de San Isidro, promises to be a well-contested event. Set over 1400 meters on the auxiliary dirt track and open to horses aged 4 and up, it has attracted a field of 9 solidly experienced participants, some with a history in stakes races.

My Stormy Dark will carry the top weight of 59 kilos, the Las Monjitas crd who has struggled to meet the expectations that his pedigree always promised. The In the Dark colt was the only horse to defeat the remarkable Ever Daddy (Daddy Long Legs), winning by 8 lengths in the Especial Julio F. Penna, on a muddy track, al Palermo, during his debut. However, since then, his campaign has been inconsistent, alternating between good and bad performances. He has had some solid efforts, including a win in the Clásico Cayetano S. Sauro, but has not been able to fully establish himself. Now, he faces a new opportunity to revive his career, boosted by his third-place finish behind El Exito (Il Campione) in the Clásico Good Manners, though the quality of his rivals will push him to the limit.

A major contender is the more consistent El Gazpacho (Bodemeister, 57), who has been steadily improving and recently claimed the first major win of his career by taking the Handicap Whipper In under the same conditions he faces now.

El Despertar (Il Campione) will look to bounce back after a subpar performance in the aforementioned Clásico Good Manners, also carrying the maximum weight of 59 kilos. A winner of the Clásicos Reconquista (L) and Ahmad, and of the Handicap Sideral, he has the class to achieve his goal.

After more than a year recovering from injury, Dr. Can (Señor Candy, 58) will return in hopes of finding his winning ways again. His last race saw him finish fifth in the Clásico Horacio Bustillo (G2), but before that, he won the Handicap Branding.

Rounding out the field are Dom Mario (Midshipman, 58 1/2), Don Taimado (Il Campione, 54 1/2), Hacer Un Puente(Cosmic Trigger, 56 1/2), and Don Rocky (Equal Stripes, 56 1/2), along with Graf Spee (Winning Prize, 55 1/2), who comes into the race in good form after impressing in allowance races.
