The Haras Pozo de Luna mare went gate to wire for a commanding four-length victory, reaffirming her status as the top turf miler among fillies and mares

The rise of Obra Clásica has been nothing short of spectacular. After making headlines with her victory in the Clásico Miguel Ángel y Tomás Juárez Celman (G2) over the turf at Palermo, she reaffirmed her top form this Saturday with another commanding performance in the Clásico Ricardo, Ezequiel y Ezequiel M. Fernández Guerrico (G2, 1600m, turf), part of a highly competitive racing card at Hipódromo de San Isidro.
Time is a crucial ally in Thoroughbred racing, and it has certainly played a key role in the development of the daughter of Daddy Long Legs. While she showed glimpses of talent in allowance company last season, it wasn’t quite enough to make an impact on the stakes scene.
But 2025 has marked her breakthrough, and with a flawless 3-for-3 record this year, she now looms as a major contender for the remainder of the season. With a different landscape for turf milers, the Copa Diamante (G1) has become the ultimate target.
Trained by Nicolás Martín Ferro and ridden by Francisco Leandro, the Haras Pozo de Luna homebred executed her task to perfection. She seized the lead early, dictated the pace with confidence, and quickened decisively on the far turn.
Given how effortlessly she traveled through the opening stages, it was always going to be tough for any of her rivals to catch her—and none could. The energy she conserved early allowed her to unleash a powerful finishing kick in the stretch, extending her advantage with every stride.
At the wire, Obra Clásica held a four-length margin over Punta Turquesa (Fortify), who closed well along the rail to take second. A length and a half behind, Same Treasure (Treasure Beach) secured a solid third-place finish, a neck in front of Kelly Rose (Il Campione), who put in a game effort after chasing the winner throughout.
The final time of 1:33.84 was faster than the mark set later by Concord (Remote) in the Clásico América (G2).
In Ochagavía (Orpen), Obra Clásica took another significant step forward, firmly establishing herself as the top turf miler of the moment. And with the way she continues to progress, the best may still be yet to come.
