The son of Winning Prize boasts a strong resume, despite a 164-day layoff

LA PLATA.- A rainy forecast for the day adds an extra challenge to what promises to be an entertaining race card at the Bosque, with the track likely to be heavy due to recent showers and more expected throughout the day.
The featured double-header will be headlined by the Clásico Jockey Club de Corrientes, a mile race for horses aged 4 and up, with weight-for-age conditions, and several contenders with strong chances to claim victory.
After a 164-day break, Paraná Miní (Winning Prize) returns to action. In 2024, he enjoyed an impressive streak of performances on the San Isidro turf, winning the Clásico Austria (L) and finishing second in both the Southern Halo(G3) and Pippermint (G2) classics.
A front-runner, Paraná Miní will face the steady Husson Chuck (Chuck Berry), who recently earned his first black-type victory in the Oswaldo Aranha (L), on the same track and distance as today's race.
Sapporo (Japan) may have disappointed in his last outing, finishing fifth in the Fortunato Novara (G3), but it would be unfair to write him off after one poor performance, especially since he previously won the Jockey Club de Venezuela (L) and Hipódromo de La Plata (G3) classics, and was second in the Jockey Club Argentino (L).
Speedy Endor (Endorsement), who finished second behind Storm Sound (Hi Happy) in the Especial Haras El Paraíso, returns from the San Isidro Campo 2, consistently performing at a high level.
Edification (Il Campione) and the veteran Ecólogo Estrella (Ecólogo) both have more work to do after recent disappointing outings, but their potential for improvement makes them worth noting. Indy Pro (Indy Point), coming off a seventh-place finish in the Joaquín V. González (G2), may surprise if he manages to get involved with the front runners.
