Final Declarations and Post Position Draw Held Saturday for Upcoming Palermo Dirt Festival

Unusual Saturday Declarations and Draw Set the Stage for Thrilling Gran Premio República Argentina Day
It’s not common to see final declarations and the post position draw held on a Saturday at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, but such was the case ahead of next Thursday’s spectacular Gran Premio República Argentina (G1, 2000m, dirt) and its supporting card.
Following the withdrawals of Atomic Trigger (Cosmic Trigger) and Davalos (Hi Happy), a field of 14 will line up for the country’s top race for older horses, headlined by Crazy Talent (Equal Talent), who will seek revenge after finishing third in last year's edition behind the brilliant El Kodigo (Equal Stripes) and Mezzopiano (Daddy Long Legs). Crazy Talent arrives full of confidence after his outstanding victory in the Gran Premio de Honor (G1).
Joining him from the Honor field are Need You Tonight (Hat Ninja), Treasure Island (Treasure Beach), Endor Rye(Endorsement), Jardín Secreto (Endorsement), and Operístico (Daddy Long Legs), all hoping to turn the tables.
The field also includes Forest Gump (Hurricane Cat), Long Kick (Long Island Sound), Look Portal (Portal del Alto), Mannarino (Cosmic Trigger), Oleguer (Equal Stripes), Ronda de Ases (Forge), Ruso Real (In the Dark), Springbreak (Smart Holiday), and Sueño Argentino (Equal Stripes).
The same day will feature the Gran Premio Criadores (G1, 2000m, dirt) for fillies and mares, a “Win and You’re In” event granting a berth into the 2024 Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) at Del Mar. After several defections, a field of seven will contest the race, including Ceniza Pampa (Hat Ninja), fresh off her victory in the Gran Premio Gilberto Lerena (G1) over turf, and Martana (Fortify), dominant winner of the Clásico Arturo R. y Arturo Bullrich (G2).
Completing the Criadores lineup are Presencial (Suggestive Boy), Romana Craf (Mastercraftsman), Sarawak Rim(Remote), Orpen Rimout (Remote), and International Look (Cosmic Trigger).
The action-packed program also includes the Gran Premio Ciudad de Buenos Aires (G1, 1000m, dirt) for sprinters and the Gran Premio de las Américas - OSAF (G1, 1600m, dirt) for milers. The Gran Premio Montevideo (G1) and Gran Premio Jorge de Atucha (G1), both over 1500 meters, will determine the early season leaders among 2-year-olds.
Defending champions Labrado (Le Blues) and El Exito (Il Campione) will aim to repeat their titles in the Ciudad de Buenos Aires and De las Américas, respectively. El Exito will face a competitive group that includes Descamisado(Cosmic Trigger), Easy Way Out (Il Campione), Fiolo Boss (Holy Boss), Folie Ninja (Hat Ninja), Safety Honour(Safety Check), Song Joy (Fortify), and Storm Sound (Hi Happy).
Labrado will take on several talented mares such as Lagoa Azul (Lenovo), A La Vista (Angiolo), Aubrie (Angiolo), Barbacoa Key (Key Deputy), Eleven Mile (Il Campione), Enjoy Dancing (Hi Happy), Fantastic Bomb (Hit It a Bomb), and Realizada Cat (Hurricane Cat), along with male contenders like Cerrito Piñón (Manipulator), El Fruto(Il Campione), Filoso Class (Filoso Emperor), Príncipe Soñado (Fragotero), Ruler Man (Manipulator), Say It Fast(Cosmic Trigger), and Yukon Jack (Glory Seattle).
In the Montevideo, Alado Frank (Gidu), fresh off a win in the Crespo (G3), leads a small group that also includes Hi Dolfi (Hi Happy), Amor a Contramano (Gouverneur Morris), Monteagrelo (Il Campione), Liberto (Hurricane Cat), and Vladimir (Il Mercato).
Meanwhile, in the Jorge de Atucha, unbeaten filly Roshita (Gouverneur Morris) will try to maintain her supremacy after a dominant win in the Clásico Saturnino J. Unzué (G2), while stretching out in distance. Gata Frank (Gidu), Go Clari GO (Strategos), La Graviere (Seahenge), and maiden Sabatini (Hurricane Cat) will take her on.
