After a long layoff, the daughter of Forge prevailed in the Especial Haras Cumeneyén

LA PLATA, Argentina—On a day of remarkable comebacks, Rosas del Rosedal delivered a flawless performance in the Special Haras Cumeneyén (1100m, dirt), one of two feature races on La Plata’s Tuesday card, marking her return after more than eight months on the sidelines with an outstanding victory.
A proven stakes performer, the Forge filly executed her task to perfection, taking command from the break and dictating the pace all the way to the wire, reaffirming her status among the top local sprinters.
With her regular rider Martín La Palma in the irons and carrying one of the highest imposts at 56 kilos, the dark bay broke alertly, seized the lead, and set solid fractions. Those early advantages proved crucial in the final strides, as Castell Queen (Daniel Boone, 54kg) launched a late rally in an attempt to reel her in.
At the wire, Rosas del Rosedal held on by half a length, with Una Causa (True Cause, 60kg) running a strong race to finish third, two lengths behind the winner. The final time was 1:04.71.
Trained by Juan Diestra for Stud Casabianca, Rosas del Rosedal notched her sixth career victory in 11 starts, pushing her earnings past 15,000,000 pesos. With this impressive comeback, she has positioned herself as a serious contender for upcoming stakes among the southern sprinters, with possible targets at Palermo or San Isidro also in sight.
