As the weeks progress, the 2022 crop of foals continues to make its presence felt on Argentina’s top racing stages, alongside the emergence of promising new sires. Strategos (Zensational), Gidu (Frankel), The Great Day (Harlan's Holiday), and Springdom (Sebi Halo) had already celebrated their first winners, and now it was the turn of Gouverneur Morris (Constitution). Standing at Haras La Pasión, the gray stallion couldn't have had a more auspicious debut.

This Sunday at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, his daughter Roshita delivered a dazzling performance in the day’s second race, the Premio Celestial Filly, contested over 1200 meters on the dirt track under sweltering conditions.

Representing Stud Rubio B., trained by Juan C. Etchechoury (h.), and ridden by William Pereyra, the filly followed the fast pace set by Mis Locuras (Manipulator) from a prudent distance. As the field entered the straight, Roshita quickly closed the gap and pulled away with remarkable authority and poise.

Roshita crossed the finish line 10 lengths ahead of La Graviere (Seahenge), with the frontrunner Mis Locuras fading to finish third, another length back. Adding further merit to her performance, Roshita clocked a notable time of 1:08.75.

Out of Rosheen (Easing Along), who never raced, Roshita hails from a family of proven winners, including the stakes performers Ramblera (Easing Along) and Raons (Lizard Island), as well as the durable runners Romancera (Not for Sale), Rabal (Sixties Icon), and Rollanda (Bodemeister).

Roshita now eyes the Clásico Saturnino J. Unzué (G2), a logical next step for her budding career. Later in the day, another promising 2-year-old, Majority Wins (Master of Hounds out of Silent Trigger, by Orpen), also kicked off his career in style, setting his sights on the Clásico Santiago Luro (G2).

Representing Stud El Olimpo, Majority Wins provided an early birthday gift to his trainer, Hugo Pérez, charging wide in the straight to edge past Liberto (Hurricane Cat) in the final strides and win by a neck, with the favorite Peter Tosh (Fortify) finishing third, a length behind.

In terms of timing, Majority Wins was no less impressive than Roshita, stopping the clock at 1:08.76, further underscoring the depth of talent within this new generation.
