The huge delay in the payment of purses played its role, although, fortunately and with short batches in between, the schedule will be met
The Racing Department of San Isidro Racecourse had to work very hard to plan its cards for next week, in view of the very low number of entries registered on Monday, as a consequence of the huge delay in the payment of the existing purses, which, little by little, is starting to be left behind, who knows until when?
With 7 races cancelled -plus those that had suffered the same fate on Monday and some unifications-, 21 competitions will be run at the Jockey Club venue, 12 on Saturday, February 1, and the remaining 11 on Wednesday, February 5, with only 2 of them reaching 10 participants.
The most transcendental will take place on the first of those days, when a new edition of the Clásico Juan Shaw (G2) will be run, for 3yo and up fillies and mares and with 2200 meters over the turf, under weight-for-age scale, which will mark the beginning of the selective process for the female stayers.
The ratified horses were finally 9, among which stands out the presence of Vision Triomphe (Cima de Triomphe), who arrived at the Copa de Plata (G1) as a candidate and here she will try to resume the winning path.
The Stud Tramo 20's bay will face Luz Delito (Lizard Island), Baby Ruth (Señor Candy), Ceniza Pampa (Hat Ninja), Elvitas (Cosmic Trigger), India Cheat (Suggestive Boy), Neowise (Brz-Agnes Gold), Operata (Hi Happy) and Punta Turquesa (Fortify).
San Isidro also finished putting together its meeting on Wednesday, February 5, more pocket than ever, and where half of the entries in the central test ended up as forfaits. It is the Handicap Whipper In (1400 m, dirt), for 4 years old and up, and where now the top weight will be carried by Rio Felipin (Grand Reward), with 59 kilos and a half.
The story will not be easy for the horse trained by Eduardo Accosano, who will face rivals in a good moment as Dom Mario (Midshipman, 59) and Don Rocky (Equal Stripes, 56), without forgetting the interesting background of El Gazpacho (Bodemeister, 55 1/2) and Hop On (Endorsement, 56 1/2).
Positive balance of Tuesday in San Isidro, pushing the boat out. It will be seen how people respond to the payments that will arrive, already towards next week.
