In a Finish Where the Top Four Were Separated by Just One Length, the Son of Springdom Secures His First Major Victory

The Clásico Islas Malvinas (L-1000m, turf), held Wednesday at Hipódromo de San Isidro, delivered an exhilarating race that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats from start to finish, with the top four finishers separated by just one length.
Returning to the turf, the surface on which he broke his maiden, Secreto a Voces defied expectations, narrowly defeating the favorite Salando Las Heridas by half a neck in another thrilling finish between sons of first-generation sires in the two-year-old select process.
The winner, a son of Springdom (Sebi Halo), was followed by Salando Las Heridas, a colt by Strategos (Zensational), in what was an excellent result for Haras El Paraíso, where both champions stand at stud.
In reality, the afternoon’s feature race became a near head-to-head contest between the two, with the outcome beginning to unfold 200 meters from the wire, when Secreto a Voces managed to edge ahead, maintaining the lead to the finish.
Salando Las Heridas did everything in his power to break the winner’s stride but was unable to do so, though it’s worth noting that at one point he ran tightly with El Madrugador (Il Campione), who appeared uncomfortable and unable to fully extend.
Coming on strong in the stretch, Baby Pass (Distinctiv Passion) was the best-placed filly, completing the trifecta just a neck behind the runner-up, with El Madrugador finishing fourth, three-quarters of a length behind. The final time was 59.6 seconds.
Brian Enrique shone in the reins of the colt, trained by Guillermo A. García and racing for Stud El Colibrí, bred by Haras El Paraíso.
Secreto a Voces is out of the mare Buenísima Idea (Incurable Optimist), who has already produced two other winners, Ella Es Buenísima (Mad Speed) and Joako (Heliostatic), and belongs to a well-established family with notable connections to Interlisa (Intérprete) and Maestra Druida (Master of Hounds), a lineage that flourished in the now-defunct Haras Income.
