The colt cruised to victory in the Clásico Criadores Argentinos del Sangre Pura de Carrera (L) over 1000 meters at La Plata

LA PLATA.- There was plenty to celebrate after Takeshi Frank delivered a dominant performance in the Clásico Criadores Argentinos del Sangre Pura de Carrera (L, 1000m, dirt), the rescheduled first step of the La Plata juvenile series.
The main source of excitement was the first stakes victory for the promising Stud Pauli runner, a triumph that resonated all the way to Haras Gran Muñeca, where he was bred. It also marked an important milestone for his sire Gidu, the first son of Frankel to stand in Argentina, who is already showing great potential with his early runners.
Trained by Marcelo Sueldo and saddled by Juan Pablo E. Díaz, Takeshi Frank confirmed his talent, building on a strong turf campaign at San Isidro. A sharp debut winner, he had most recently finished second to The Great Cash (The Great Day) in the Clásico Congreve (L).
The switch to dirt and his first experience around a turn posed no obstacles. Takeshi Frank engaged in an early battle with Vendaval Joy (Roman Joy) and Emm Yugo (Emmanuel), gained control at the top of the stretch, and powered home with authority.
At the wire, Takeshi Frank had drawn 5 lengths clear of Vendaval Joy, while Gryschin (Malenchini) rallied late for third, another 1 1/2 lengths back. Emm Yugo faded to fourth, beaten 2 more lengths. The clock stopped at an excellent :59.23 over the fast track.
Gonzalo Borda guided Takeshi Frank to victory, adding to the legacy of his dam Tarde o Temprano (Freud), a Listed-winning sprinter who captured the Clásico General Güemes (L) in 2017. He also hails from the deep family of Team (Southern Halo).
With his versatility proven on both surfaces, Takeshi Frank has plenty of options ahead. Longer distances loom on the horizon, but that doesn’t seem to be a concern. The best of him is likely yet to come.
