The race programs for the upcoming week at the Palermo and San Isidro racetracks have been finalized, featuring a solid selection of intermediate-level stakes ahead of the major G1 events on the horizon.
The most significant action will take place at Avenida del Libertador and Dorrego on Monday, March 31, with the Clásico Pedro E. y Manuel A. Crespo (G3), a 1400-meter race on the dirt serving as a preparatory event for the upcoming Montevideo (G1) and Jorge de Atucha (G1) classics. With Liberto (Hurricane Cat) withdrawn, the field will consist of only five runners: Alado Frank (Gidu), Fantasioso Pass (Distinctiv Passion), Gran Porteñito (Dabster), Hi Dolfi (Hi Happy), and Majority Wins (Master of Hounds), continuing to shape the 2-year-old landscape on the dirt.
Palermo will also feature races on Thursday, April 3, with the strongest events being the Resuello Handicap (1100 meters, dirt) and the Jacinto Rafael Herrera Handicap (1200 meters, dirt). The former is open to 4-year-olds and older winners, while the latter is for mares aged 5 and older, also winners.
Meanwhile, at San Isidro, the most exciting race of the week will take place on Wednesday, April 2, with the Clásico Islas Malvinas (L), a 1000-meter turf event. After three withdrawals, the confirmed participants are: Baby Pass(Distinctiv Passion), El Madrugador (Il Campione), Emm Yugo (Emmanuel), Emma-Vaga (Emmanuel), Salando Las Heridas (Strategos), Secreto a Voces (Springdom), and Starry Bomb (Hit It a Bomb).
The other classic of the week in the north will be the Doria, a handicap race for mares aged 3 and up, over 1400 meters on the turf, scheduled for Saturday, March 30. The confirmed runners are: Che Mamita (Safety Check, 58 1/2), Amiguita Soñada (Todo un Amiguito, 53 1/2), Candlelit (Equal Stripes, 54 1/2), Castell Queen (Daniel Boone, 56 1/2), Champion Craf (Mastercraftsman, 55), Coni Fizz (Marconi, 56), Look Happy (Hi Happy, 56 1/2), Udinese (Brz-Eyeofthetiger, 54 1/2), Verenna (Cosmic Trigger, 56 1/2), and Vieja Amiga Mask (Mask, 56).
