The Gran Premio Vicente Dupuy will offer a $15,000,000 prize to the winner

LA PUNTA, San Luis (Special for Turf Diario). – The 2025 edition of the Gran Premio Vicente Dupuy (G3-2400m, dirt), the most important race of the season in the interior of the country, will take place on Sunday, March 30, at the Hipódromo La Punta, offering a fantastic prize of 15,000,000 pesos for the winner, with a total purse of $20,650,000.

Reserved for horses aged 3 and over and run under a weight-for-age scale, this official event will have an entry fee of 180,000 pesos (150,000 pesos for registration and 30,000 pesos for confirmation), plus a mandatory auction fee of 200,000 pesos.

Horses can be entered for the race until 1 p.m. on March 12, with forfait declarations and jockey commitments to be submitted before 1 p.m. on March 25, the same day the post position draw is scheduled for 4:30 p.m..

As always, the management at La Punta is making efforts to secure the participation of high-level stayers who have been performing at top events, alongside local and provincial horses that are always part of the celebration. Some important confirmations are expected in the coming weeks.

The day will also feature three additional high-level races, including the Estrellas Puntanas (1000m, dirt) and Estrellas Precoces (800m, dirt), both part of the Fundación Equina Argentina-sponsored circuit, and the Handicap Juan Esteban Pedernera (1600m, dirt).

The Estrellas Puntanas, for horses aged 3 and up, will offer 5,000,000 pesos to the winner, while the Estrellas Precoceswill reward the victor with another 5,000,000 pesos. In both cases, it is mandatory to be registered in the series to compete.

The Juan Esteban Pedernera, open to horses aged 3 and up, will have a prize of 1,250,000 pesos for the winner, plus a 250,000 pesos bonus if the horse is entered in the Carreras de las Estrellas.

The day at La Punta will also feature four more conditional races, with prizes ranging from 700,000 to 1,000,000 pesosfor the winner. The grand celebration of the interior is taking shape, with the expectation of a high-level technical spectacle and packed stands.
