LIMA, Peru (Special for Turf Diario) - The Peruvian horse market continues to renew itself. This Thursday was announced the arrival of Untreated (USA, Nyquist) to act as stallion from the second half of the current season.

Winner of three conditionals, the horse that defended the colors of Team Valor International LLC and was trained by Todd A. Pletcher, was also second in the Excelsior Stakes (L) and third in the Suburban Stakes (G2) and the Pimlico Special Stakes (G3). He was also fourth in the Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1), accumulating US$ 300,673 in earnings through 14 performances.

At 7 years old, the chestnut becomes the first son of Nyquist (Uncle Mo) to arrive in Peru to start breeding, and one of the few working in South America, accompanied by G1 Slow Down Andy, who has just completed his first year serving at Haras Firmamento, in Argentina.

With a stud fee of US$ 175,000 set for 2025, Nyquist is one of the best stallions in the United States today, and one of the continuators of the huge sire line of Uncle Mo, who died a few weeks ago at Coolmore America, leaving a gap impossible to fill.

With only 5 generations on the track, the Kentucky Derby (G1) winning horse has produced 27 classic winners to date, including 7 G1 winners and collecting prize money in excess of $36,000,000.

Untreated is a full brother to Ballet Dancing (Medaglia D'Oro), winner of the Santa Ana Stakes (G3).

The dam of both was the G2 classic placé Fully Living (Unbridled's Song), who is also a full sister to Abeliefinthislivin (Arrogate), winner of the Canadian Derby (G3).

The new sire's granddam is Half A.P. (USA, Pulpit), maternal sister to the notable runner Halfbridled (Unbridled), winner of four races, including the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), the Del Mar Debutante Stakes (G1) and the Oak Leaf Stakes (G2), and who was also second in the Santa Anita Oaks (G1) and the Stonerside Beaumont Stakes (G2) in just six starts.

Untreated is, without a doubt, a valuable arrival for the local and South American turf.
