Owned by Stud La Quebrada, the mare wants to return to victory against a difficult rival over Palermo's 1200 meters dirt track
This Monday's card at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo will be extensive and will mix good races with others of low level, where the outstanding feature will be the Handicap Carapálida, to be run over 1200 meters in the main dirt track, open for 4yo and up mares and with a prize money for the winner of only 5,600,000 pesos.
There will be only 6 runners in the gates and it will not be easy to beat Brugge, even if she will carry the topweight of 61 kilos. La Quebrada's mare has long been a great protagonist at this level, and almost always with an enviable regularity.
Winner of the handicaps Orpen, Empeñosa and Bernardo A., Adolfo P. and Aníbal J. Giovanetti, Brugge comes from losing by half a length to Crhys Kissing (South Kissing) in the Handicap Borobetá, giving everything from early on, as is her characteristic.
Push Up (Bodemeister, 56), winner of the Handicap Sandal on the turf back in September, will make her second attempt over 1200 meters, after that very good performance with which she said goodbye to her 2024 and in which finished second to Joy Melódica (Fortify) in the Clásico Día de la Soberanía Nacional, 1 1/2 lengths behind.
On the rise comes Free Prize (Winning Prize, 55), who here will have her first challenge at the top level, sponsored by a valuable performance over 1400 meters a Palermo, losing by only half a length to the very tough Abogada Brava (Cosmic Trigger), in a conditional where Mirta E-Dubai (E Dubai, 54), who will also be in the gates now, was fifth.
Emely (Il Campione, 56) will be another name to respect to the maximum, although unusually carrying the same kilos as Push Up. The defender of the Par de Ases Stable has three consecutive conditional victories, the last one by 8 lengths over Isolation (Suggestive Boy).
